Josh Languedoc (Alberta Resident)

speakerImage Biography: Josh is an Anishinaabe playwright, storyteller, educator and performer. An active member of the Playwrights Guild of Canada, Josh is passionate about indigenizing theatrical and community spaces. Honouring the voices of his people, Josh writes indigenous plays and creates interactive storytelling shows that captivate audiences of all ages. His most recent show, Rocko and Nakota: Tales From the Land, toured to 6 Canadian Fringes to unanimous critical and audience acclaim. Other works include Wolf Runner with Concrete Theatre; The Eyes of Spirits/Starlight Journey with Workshop West Playwrights Theatre, Native Earth Performing Arts, and the Citadel Theatre; CIVIL BLOOD: A Treaty Story with Thou Art Here Theatre; and Side-By-Side, a collaborative devised indigenous storytelling show with students of Ross Sheppard High School. Josh was the Playwright in Residence at Workshop West Playwrights Theatre from 2017-2018 and will engage in an across-Edmonton tour of Rocko and Nakota.
