Chairperson Login
During the Greater Edmonton Teachers’ Convention, chairpersons provide an important and essential role by hosting our speakers. Volunteering to be a chairperson has many rewards:
- You have the opportunity to personally meet the speaker.
- You have the pleasure of having lunch with the speaker at the scenic River Room at the Shaw Conference Centre.
- You will receive a Tim Horton’s gift certificate to thank you for your assistance.
- As a chairperson you are guaranteed the best seat in the session you want to attend.
- You are welcomed to attend the Hospitality Suite at the Westin Hotel
Your duties are simple and easy:
- E-mailing /phoning the speaker prior to convention to introduce yourself.
- Hosting the speaker prior to the session.
- During the session, introducing and thanking the speaker as well as distributing evaluation forms.
- Assisting the speaker to pick up their honorarium from the convention information desk
- Demonstrating Edmonton’s famous hospitality

There will be a brief Chairpersons’ Evening on Wednesday February 8th from 4pm until 5pm in room 213 at Barnett House, 11010-142 street. This will provide all the information you need to be a host/chair. We look forward to seeing you at the Chairperson’s Evening.
